VJF participates in the reconstruction of Krayezerna street project, city of Burgas
The end of 2016 marked the start-up of the "Reconstruction of Krayezerna Street, city of Burgas" project. The project includes reconstruction and extension of the existing two-lane road into a four-lane road, construction of several roundabouts and the relevant road junctions. The project will redirect the busy transit traffic to the south part of the city, will provide access to the south industrial zone and to Burgas harbor.
The Scope of work of the project includes increasing of the load support characteristics due to the extremely soft soils in the area, plus the nearby location of Lake Vaya, which complicates the execution of the road construction.
VJF was chosen by the Main Contractor as a supplier of the load support package, which includes the needle, punched polypropylene geotextile and the Cellular Confinement System. The entire area of load support is around 50,000 sq. m.
The main function of the proposed package was to increase the bearing capacity of the base, reduction of the deformations from the traffic and its distribution.
Prior the installation activities, VJF engineers performed on site tests and trainings for the Contractor's engineers and workers, regarding the proper installation of the specified materials.
