The new “Boyana” residential complex is located in the area of Gurdova Glava in the outskirts of Vitosha mountain. The complex consists of three multifamily buildings. VJF Engineering provided complete waterproofing on the roofs of the buildings, all terraces and loggias, as well as over the deck of the underground parking.

ROOFS

To prevent moisture penetration into the thermal insulation from the internal environment of the building, VJF Engineering applied vapour control membrane – Gemini Vapor VA APP -10°C. The membrane has excellent dimensional stability due to the glassfibre reinforcement, while the laminated to the reinforcement aluminum film, guarantees excellent performance of the membrane as a vapour barrier.

For the roof waterproofing, VJF Engineering proposed a double layers system solution – membranes consisting of distilled bitumen modified with selected elasto-plastomeric polymers and atactic polypropylene (APP). All membranes applied on the roofs of “Boyana” residential complex are membranes with high thermal resistance. The mineral upper surface of the second layer membrane, protects against UV rays and additionally increases the service life of the roofs.

TERRACES AND LOGGIAS

The VC membrane is applied as well as on all terraces and loggias in the residential complex under the thermal insulation layer.  As a waterproofing solution under the frost-resistant granite is applied double layers system from the Venus FC SBS -20°C product range.

BASEMENT SLAB

Between the three buildings is situated one level underground parking. Over the parking deck there are gardens and green areas with trees and grass. The solution for the reliable waterproofing of the basement which is also resistant to root puncture is a system specially designed for green roofs. Gemini Garden as the second layer of the system is a membrane with special chemical additive to the bitumen compound that gives the ability  of the membrane to resist roots.
